Don't Adjust to the Darkness

"The people who walk in great darkness have adjusted their eyes." -The Journey of Desire

When you walk into a dark room or if it's dark outside, at first you can't see very well. After time goes by, you can finally start to see and your eyes adjust to the darkness. After that point of adjustment, the darkness is normal and your vision is that of if it was daytime.

When we do "sins" for the first time, we feel very guilty and regretful. The second time, the guilt and regret lessens, and time after time it deteriorates to basically zero guilt.
Sin is darkness. God is light. The sin becomes normal. You "adjust to the darkness."

You always hear parents say, "Eat your carrots, they will help your vision."
Well I'm going to go out on a limb and compare carrots to reading God's word and prayer.
Drawing closer to God will better our life vision. Our closeness to God will help us keep from sin and give us conviction to do right. The closer to God, the further from sin you should be.

So eat your "carrots", and better your life vision.
Do not adjust to the darkness.
